My ex-wife is trying to move to florida with my son. I live in ohio about two hours away from my son in michigan. She met a man online and has decided to marry him and move to florida. She has only known this man for about 4 months. My son has a medical condition where he has issues with heat and humidity. I have joint legal custody with liberal visitation. She has sole physical custody. I have informed her that I am againiest this move and I she has given me nothing in writing about her knew address and where she has set up medical treatment at. My son's entire family lives within a tree hour radius of each other, this has always ben his support sturcture. My ex has said she will fly him up, but I have nothing in writing. I do not want my son to move, is there anything I can do to prevent this.

Stop discussing things outside of court.
There are reasons you are not married.
Use the court to stop her from taking the child out of state.
File a petition with the court, asking the court to order her NOT to take the child anywhere and to comply with the existing court orders.
If she wants to move, she can.
She just can't take the child.
If her intended is more important than her child, ask her to give you full legal and physical custody, and pay court ordered child support.
Then she can move, pay child support, pay for the child to fly down and visit her, and marry Mr. Internet.

Dad, you may have a hard time convincing the court that the move shouldn't be granted given that you already live in a different state (even one two hours away).
Did you originally move away from Mom or vice versa?

You can certainly file for custody since all extended family is in the close vicinity. You do not have to allow the move. Mom has to prove it is in the childs best interest to move and moving for an online boyfriend with no extended family in the new area, will be hard for her to do. If you can you need to see an attorney or book a phone consultation with one in the state where the order is out of. Is that your current state or mom's? Who moved?
