hello my name is Shantelle Renee Pittman, I want to know why I can live on my own. Ill be 17 this July 1, 2003 and I can't stand my adoptive aunt. She treats me like crap, and it has gone on long enough. I hate my Life living with her. What can I do, I really need legal help.

Much depends upon what state you are in and what the legal age of adulthood is. At your age you would likely be able to state a preference as to where you want to live if a guardian is necessary.
