So im 16 and my dad kicked me out so i went to live with my mom. They both live in nc about an hpur apart. But my mom is very verbally abusive and a drunkard. Even though my cusion who is 19 and is willing to let me live with her my dad doesnt want to sign ovwr custody to her. I cant stand being with my mom but i cant live with my dad. I want to get emancipated so i can live with my cusion but im not sure if i can. Or how would it even work?

Emancipation is very rarely granted across the USA.
In your state, NC, it only happens via marriage or court order.
    Both ways are extremely rare.
Read the law on emancipation, OP, in your state:

    http://sogpubs.unc.edu//electronicversions/pdfs/rca/ch4.pdf?

    http://www.speakslaw.com/library/what-you-need-to-know-about-north-carolina-child-emancipation.cfm

Your dad could get in very big trouble for booting you, if your mom or you report what he did by booting you.
That's called minimally, neglect, and you could wind up in foster care or a group home run by the state.
Is foster care better than a home?

See if you and mom can talk about this.

    Emancipation, ain't happening, OP.
