I received my 2nd dui in pennsylvania. If i volenteer to serve an extra year suspension will I still be required to have an interlock system when i get my license back?

Totally up to the judge. I don't think volunteering for a suspension is going to score you any points.

You might want to illustrate to the judge how you plan to address your problems with alcohol abuse.

Seek counseling about your substance abuse issues.

Start now, to demonstrate to the court your acknowledgement of your problem.

I doubt that after two alcohol and driving related offenses, you are in any position to make deals that appear to be self serving?

If you were in Michigan, I'd tell you this.

You can get your interlock, and then monthly go to the shop and have them download your records.

In MICHIGAN, afte a year has passed, your interlock automatically is taken off, but you will still have RESTRICTIONS.

Best bet, get the device. If it is a problem of money, I'd bring it up, but it's doubtful you'd get much sympathy.
