Hi,

I was arrested for first time for DUI/reckless driving(0.09) in state of washington.I am planning to go to india by December 2012 for my H1-B extension. On last July I pleaded guilty and the charge has been reduced to Reckless driving and 24 months of probation. Is there any effect of my H1-B extension, If yes please let me know what are the consequences?

Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks,
Pradeep

If you're on probation, you're usually NOT allowed to leave the country. Sometimes you're PROHIBITED from leaving the state, or even the county in which you reside. I suggest you ask your probation officer about your planned trip. It is also wise to consult your attorney, and you must read your sentencing and probation documents. The Green Card renewal is the least of your issues for the next 24 months. You might also consult an immigration attorney.
