Divorce in Texas

My spouse and I were married in September 1999. We have just separated and are planning to divorce. He began employment in February of 1999 with a city and has a municipal retirement. He was able to "buy" more time to add toward retirement by purchasing his military and previous law enforcement time. This was supposed to go to "our" retirement. Two questions: First, am I entitled to any of this retirement? And second, if so, do I have to wait until he finally retires? Thanks for any help.
