Daughters adopted without my permission

I live in Florida and pay child support for my 2 daughters through the state of Maryland. I have recently been given information that my ex wife has somehow allowed her new husband to adopt my two children without my permission. I have been unable to get any answers as to how this could happen and I don't know where to even begin to start anything legal. This is not something I would have given my permission to do. She has already not allowed me to see my children for several years, even with a court order, but trying to fight it across state lines has proved almost impossible
