My ex and I have joint custody. I've been having some concerns with his living arrangements.
He lives with his parents with no intentions of ever moving out. The problem is that he works an hour away from home and his parents are the ones that take care of the children before and sometimes after school.
The house was damaged in the hurricanes about 5 years ago. Nothing was fixed. The roof had cool seal put on it when it should have been replaced, the interior walls are damaged from water and the lights sometimes get water in them if it rains long enough and hard enough.
I am concerned since our oldest has Eczema and both children have allergy problems
When it comes to school issues I am still the one that has to deal with all the issues, even when he has the children.
When it's his time with the children, things don't get signed and returned, some homework doesn't get get done or turned in.
In the past the school didn't even know that our daughters had a father. The only time he showed up for anything was when it didn't interfere with his work schedule.
When we divorced he told me how much his child support payments would be ( I couldn't afford a lawyer since he wouldn't let me work, I had NO money). Recently I found out from someone who works in the law field (and a friend)that he lied about the amount because he knew that I didn't have the resources to find out the truth. I feel as if he is cheating our children out of a normal life when they are with me.
Since he wouldn't allow me to work (it would interfere with the upbringing of our children), I am now unable to find a job since I have no job history, skills or experience. I AM, however, in college getting and Associates degree to better our lives.
I am afraid that the children will eventually suffer from this arrangement and want to do something about it.
