My sister in law currently has three children. The oldest two 7 and 5 currently live with thier grandmother (the fathers mother) and I believe that the grandmother has custody of those two since I keep hearing of my sis-in-law having to pay her child support. Now the third child is like 18 months old, and he gets passed around more than a hot potato. My wife is not happy about this, and would like to have the child here on a permanent basis. Now assuming that the mother would give up custody would their be a big legal battle or a big wait time for the paperwork to come through. I do not want to make it hard on the mother to see her child, (dont want the father around PERIOD), but I think it is best that we step in here for the best interest of the child. He already stays here for days on end, and gets along great with my two boys (7 and 3).
