I had a court appointed conservator in oakland county, Michigan for 2 and a half years. He has since been released of his duties. I have reason to believe there was negligence and/or mismanagement of my estate on his part.

What kind of professional do I have to hire to investigate/detect any wrongdoing on his part? Would it be a forensic accountant or a lawyer?

What is the statute of limitations if I have to file a suit against my ex-conservator for malpractice? anyone know?

I'd suggest you talk to a lawyer first. They'll be able to tell you whether you have a case and would be able to direct the forensic accountant.

This might be professional malpractice, with a 2 year limitation date. The period would probably start to run from when the conservator was released and his alleged negligence was discoverable. Your lawyer will be able to tell you.
