My employer is deducting $500 from my commission because one of my customers has $2000 in unpaid invoices. When I started with the company I signed a 'blanket authorization' stating commissions are not final until all invoices are paid. My boss told me that it's within his rights to take the entire value of the Cost of Goods Solds off my cheque but he is just being a nice guy by picking $500. It seems he just arbitrarily picked this number.
Is this legal in Ontario?? Any advice would be appreicated!
