Closing Personal Bank Accounts

Husband lives in Wa, I live in AZ. We have been separated almost two years. He has his own banks accounts and I have my own. Two questions:

1. Is it legal to close out my accounts, so that when he files for personal bankrupcy his creditors cannot come after me. (These debts were incurred after I left). He's telling me that I would be responsible for his debt.

2. Do I have to file personal bankruptcy too?

Depeneds on what debts they are and if you signed on the dotted line-- example-- Credit Cards-- if you had those w. him and you two never closed them (0.00 balance) and he racked them up again -- yes you could be liable for them
