Child Support

I had a relationship with the father of my child for eight years. We weren't married. During that time that we were together he helped me out (with the baby), but since we parted he's avoiding his parental responsibilities. I want to file for child support in the state of Texas. How do I go about doing this? I'm afraid that he may flee the country to avoid his responsibility. He's from Mexico by the way. Please help.

Well he might flee and if he does there is not much you can do about it, but you can at least file. Was paternity established? Here is a website that can help:
