Child Support Trial Postponement

I recently had a court date and my children's father elected to go to court in hopes of not being held in contempt of court. He is going to request in writing to postpone the hearing. I know that he can send it to the support magistrate for that request; however, will I be granted the opportunity to appeal the decision should the judge decide to grant the postponement. I am tired of being inconvenienced because of continuing to come to court and take off from my job as well as my life.
