Child Support Help

I currently reside in MO and am wondering if anyone can help with child support questions. I am expecting in 6 weeks and the father doesnt want anything to do with the child. He is in another city and dosent want his family to know of this child. All I have is his name and address so how can I collect child support ? I am not wanting to screw him but am needing assistance with child care - he needs to help financially if he dosent want to be there in any other way. Also can I set the amount for what he can pay - like i said I am not out to screw him in this - actually would probably only ask for $50 a week. Thanks for any type of advice or help in this.

The easiest way for you to establish an order for child support is to go through the Child Support Enforcement agency:

An alternative is:

You can also file in court yourself or with a lawyer. All of these can be accomplished with only a name and address.

It will probably be difficult to keep it a secret from his family if you use any of the above options. If you want to keep it quiet, you can work it out privately between you; however, without a court order, he can't be forced to pay. Also, you can use the following calculator to get a ballpark figure that follows Missouri's child support guidelines:

Paternity is going to have to be established first. Start calling around and see how much day care costs. I would be asking for at least half of daycare, or google your states child support guidelines to see what he could be paying. Do you have any idea of his income? does he have other kids? If you 2 can agree to a lower amount that what guideliens say, then you can do that.
