Alright, so I am currently going to school full time and I have been using my housing allowance that I receive from my Post 9/11 GI Bill to calculate Child support payments. I also work a part time job and make a little extra there. I was told that since my Housing allowance is a non-taxable income, that I can't file in my taxes, then it cannot be used towards configuring my child support payments. Is this true?

I don't know about your housing allowance, which isn't a general item I'm familiar with. I'm not even sure what it is, especially being that 9/11 is now 11 years ago. Why now check and confirm with the branch of government that is providing you with the funding?

It is likely, your childs other parent will request the court impute the fair value of the income you are foregoing by your choice to attend school, rather than work and support your child.
