I was recently fired from my job, I was accused of stealing merchandise from the store. My boss fired me because he said someone told him that they had seen me give the merchandise away through the back door. I was the manager why would I do something like that. I told my boss it wasn't true yet he still fired me. Now people think that I'm a thief is there anything I can do to clear my name?

Probably not. In most states you can be fired for any reason.

If you can prove who said it, and that is was not true, you might have a case for slander but it is hard to prove. You might be better off just finding another job.
