car loan in divorce

My husband and I have a joint auto loan. This is the auto I have been driving and paying for. I would like to pay off this loan an sell the car. I am trying to get a divorce but my husband had a drug problem and disappeared about a year ago. Would I need my husband's signature to sell this car. Is there something an attorney can do to help since my husband cannot be found and probably does not want to be found.
