Can you appeal a child support judgement in Alabama?

My fiance wants to resolve a child support judgement. He had 3 children with his first wife. And, was paying child support to her. Then, he remarried and was working out of town traveling all over the country to different job sites. His first wife filed for a judgement of back child support while he was out of state working. And, by the time he found out about the court date via mail, the judgement had already been issued. All three of his children are now over 18 and living on their own. But, he still fears that he may have an outstanding warrant. And, has not been able to find an attorney to is willing to try and appeal this judgement. What do you suggest?

You find a good attorney the way you find a good dentist, just keep looking until you locate the ONE!

Back child support has nothing to do with the current age of the children.

If the kids become adults and you are in arrears for $100,000, the debt just keeps growing until its paid.

Unlike some federal taxes, back child support can't even be discharged via bankruptcy.

There might be something a lawyer can do, he just needs to find one that can do it.

However, if 200 lawyers are telling him there's nothing that can be done but pay the debt, that's the sad truth.

The only way people get back child support extinguished is upon their death.
