My friend has this problem with her husband, they are not in a really good relationship right now and his husband is controlling her movements. She can still talk to friends over the phone but only for a short time and he listens to the conversations. He husband is also not giving her allowance or even money to spend around the house. And was warned not to go the bank and get money from their accounts. I have read that this is sort of form of abuse and is considered as one the grounds for a divorce...
According to the article,

"The next major form of emotional abuse is manipulation and control based. In this form, the abuser will control either the money and finances or even try to control how you spend your time. They may tell you that you are not allowed to see your friends or even family without their permission. For financial control, they could only allow you a small amount for an allowance and no additional money. The reason for this is to control all of your movements. In addition, by allowing you only a small amount of money it is hard for you to save and break free of the abuse."

Is this true? Is this really enough ground that she can get a divorce? Can she get a divorce? Need opinions.
