Can I do anything?

I just heard a rumour about me 'turning tricks for $200'. I live in a smalltown and rumours abound. I'm sick to my stomach since hearing this. My boyfriend confronted the person who supposedly was saying this and he denied it. Is there anything I can do?

First of all you need to have proof. You need to have a reliable, credible witness who is willing to come forward and say under oath: I heard person XY say that she is doing tricks for $ 200. Person XY said so to me on day zt..."

Without proof you won't win any legal case. That is what makes rumors so vicious, you seldom find someone who is willing to testify.

If you find someone, then you might look at certain legal possibilities, a tort action for defamation being one of them.

It is not sufficient to find a witness who testifies: I heard that Xy heard ZZ saying...

The witness needs to have heard it himself/herself from the accused.
