After my divorce in '03 my ex kept paying on my whole life insurance policy through automatic deductions by her business, without either of us knowing for 3 years (they are mature enough to sustain themselves). Now I am being sued by her for her and her bookkeepers negligible bookkeeping. Can she collect on such a claim? She has a lawyer and I do not. Do I need one? What are the statue of limitations on such a thing? I am in FL.
Also when a divorce is mediated is there any recourse down the road? We settled but I did not pursue her business and now I regret it. And if possible how do you prove that your spouse hid money? I recently got a tip from someone entangled in the whole mess that happens to be in the banking business. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
