My son took his Volvo from CA (where his home is, and the car was registered) to Ft Bragg, NC, where he is stationed in the Army. He decided to sell the car, so I signed the title and sent it to him.
He signed the title and gave it and the car to the buyer. The problem is that the buyer has not paid him. There was to be cash & and exchange of property, none of which has taken place.
Aside from the motherly advice (you can imagine) I have given him, do we (my name was on the title with his), or does he have any recourse to recover the car or demand the payment?

Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks, Jake's Mom

I think with him handing over a free and clear title and giving the car to him as well, you guys are sol-- usually the title is the last exchange- I am sure the new owner has registered the car in his name-- your son needs to file a small claims suit in NC to get his money back since the car is no longer his-- there is no way to recoop that car now either
