I was assaulted by restaurant manager at Villa Blanca on 8/18/2010 attending Honoring the Media Red Carpet Event, and here's the story.

..."I was enjoying a cocktail with some friends on the patio at Villa
Blanca. We were relatively close to the red carpet taking photos as I
unfortunately stepped just outside the entrance to the patio. I was
immediately yelled at by the manager as the drink was literally swiped
out of my hand. He then told me I could pick it up at the bar only to
find out he had poured it out. So I approached him and said he should
not be rude and I would like my drink replaced. Then he lost his cool,
began yelling again, and insisted that I leave immediately or he would
call the police. As several people witnessed, he actually assaulted me
and forcefully grabbed me by the arm and pulled me towards the door. I
had to pull away and get the help of onlookers to get him to stop
berating me."

Event: 1st Annual All Media Gala
Date: Aug. 13th, 2010
Location: Villa Blanca Beverly Hills Restaurant | 9601 Brighton Way, Beverly Hills, CA

I'd like to know my options and my rights for the damages they've caused me -- emotional trauma from the public embarrassment and physical harassment. And I want a formal apology.

You'll never get any if those things legally, without spending lots of money for a lawyer. However, even doing that there is no guarantee you'd win. You're lucky he didn't call the police. So, speak with a lawyer.

Or, write a letter to the restaurant owner(s), reciting the events that transpired and stating the remedy you desire, an apology. Submit any witness statements, that support your version of events. No guarantee, mind you, but sugar draws more flies than does vinegar!

You have no damages, that you can prove. I suppose you could say you were treated rudely, therefore you were embarrassed.
