Annulment vs. divorce

A friend of mine got married in Vegas in Jan08 and his wife left him in Apr08. They've gone through the annulment paperwork and my friend did not contest. Is that all they have to do or is a divorce proceeding necessary too?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

No if the anullment is approved the marriage legally never happened

Thanks much....that's what I thought as well but his ex is trying to say that since she hasn't heard anything that they'd have to go through an actual divorce too. I didn't think so and I'm not sure what she's expecting to hear back.

Contact the court or use their website if they put such records there. If anullment was approved there will be a record. Either party will need to know what date anullment was finalized before they can remarry
