Hi there - hope you can help

I am a sales representative and our company has many principals who we sell and deliver for. The other day I received an e-mail from one of my principals stating that i am unable to do my job and should be fired! He was referring to one of my customers in particular who was sitting at -50%. The owner of this store owns a total of 9 stores - which they took stocks from other stores and placed it in this particular store - thus, the sales were not great. We have also had a series of out of stocks and just calculating the out of stocks - the store is more than 100% over. I took the e-mail to the owner of the stores and he suggested that i take the matter further as it is going to tarnish my great reputation in the trade. How can i go about to clear my name and take action on the terrible e-mail that was sent? I feel that the mail was unethical. Do i have a case? Please help...
