Adult Adoption for Asian 27 year old girl

We live in San Diego, CA. We have grown to love our 27 year old Asian "granddaughter". We would like to adopt her if it is at all possible. She is here with us over 1 year on a Student Visa going to school. We'd like to know if we can adopt her and what we need to do to do it ASAP.

It is great you love her so much. Unfortunately, that is not going to give you an end run around US Immigration. All it will do is put her in line for your assets if you die intestate.

You may adopt an adult of course. But that will not change her immigration status, which I believe is what you're wanting to do. I'm sorry, but no.
