If I give my 2 week notice at work, can they change my work location to a location an hour or two away to create the inconvenience to me?? They have been retaliatory in their actions in the past and I want to know what is legal and what is not.

If I give my 2 week notice at work
Would that be considered as them firing me??They can also say... Two week notice isn't required. Go ahead and pack up.
Nope. You *might* qualify for unemployment for that two week period, though there is also generally a waiting period before being eligible for benefits. While there are no legal definitions of "fire" or "quit" where it matters is unemployment and what you might tell a future employer. While you could explain they declined to accept your notice period, you are unlikely to get others to agree that a voluntary departure on your part was suddenly converted to an involuntary termination simply because the employer adjusted the effective date.Would that be considered as them firing me??
