$1600 a month for one child?!?!

Hey guys and gals I came across this site in dire need of some advice or knowledge of my situation.
Try to make this short as possible but with all the details. Pretty much my ex and I have been fighting through the court systems. We have a 4 year old son and we were not married. I moved 3 times to be with my son, who currently resides in Arizona. I am currently unemployed as my job is seasonal (have 4 to 5 months off a year)
and bring in on 1660 a month off of that unemployment beneifits. Been off since March of this year. Flash foward to yesterday I was driving into Phoenix from Las Vegas and ended up arriving late and missed my time with the judge. Therefore I went into default and she was award sole custody, $1600 a month for 1 child, plus I have to pay $13,000 in back child support. The reason this is so high is she got hold of one of my past checkstubs from 2011 and pretty much lied her ass off saying that I make 8k a month. The court has no record of my financial avadavit that I mailed, and me being late/missing that hearing makes me look like I wasn't trying so she was awarded what she wants. Now that you all have the story here are some of my questions I have. #1 I thought that back child support/arreres(sp) was awarded when you were ALREADY court ordered to pay child support and neglected to? If I just got court ordered to back it how can it be considered back child support? #2 If she is saying that I'm making almost 8k a month that would average out to be around $96,000
a year.. my highest gross since when we were together was only 67k. The year before that was 47k. I'm not math specialist but couldn't the judge see that does not add up?!? While I was in town I resubmitted my financial avadavit, along with a motion to see the judge again/restart the case. I haven't got my order in the mail yet, but my ex says that it is locked in for 1 year. Now if I was making 96k a year 19k a year child support wouldn't be a issuse. You need a living breathing lawyer to help you correct this.
It can be done. You've laid out the reason why, change in your financial circumstances.
Until its done, you'll owe the back child support and current $1,600 a month.
If you don't get a lawyer, it'll only continue to accumulate, and it can cause you BIGGER problems, even arrest and incarceration.
Your redress is in that court room.

AJ is right you need the aid of an Attorney. If you do not have one then stat calling. Many offer free consultations I suggest you get as many as you can

So does anyone know if Arizona reconizes a out of state birth cert as proof of paternity? My son was born in Las Vegas, NV and my name is on it, but I was told that Arizona does not reconize that as proof.. that I would have to submit to DNA testing for p.o.p. in their eyes. I also ask this question because I was slapped with the 1600 dollar a month child support but paternity was never established though the eyes of the court. Any replies I welcome in advance!

In many states, paternity must be established via paternity testing, not mere acknowledgment.
Again, stop wasting your time here.
Your situation is far too complex for a FREE website.
You've got a $1,600 a month monkey on your back.
That's almost $20,000 a year.
In five years, it'll be a hundred grand.
If I were you, I'd have retained my attorney weeks ago.

Hey don't be a fool dude you need some good legal advice from a lawyer specialist in this type of dispute settling. The money that you are paying in the name of back support is too much you need to get out of this situation do whatever it needed but don;t allow such things.
