13 year old son wants to live with other non-custodial parent

I am needing legal advice on the procedures to take on my 13 year old son wanting to live with his father. My ex says Texas state law says one the child turns 12, he gets to decide where he lives.. Any help you all can provide will be greatly appreciated!!

Not necessarily true but at that age, a court MAY consider his opinion. Do you think the move is in his best interest? If you do not agree then I suppose Dad can file a custody suit and you can go to court over it.
