A settlement typically means that the parties settle their differences and it ends any cause of action. There is usually a part in the agreement that states that the settlement is in full satisfaction of all claims and thus effectively ends the entire case right there.Originally posted by stormy
I would like what is the legal meaning of the phrase TO SETTLE as it applies to a lawsuit? If there is a SETTLEMENT, can there still be a trial and does a new lawyer handle that trial?
