My aunts first offense that the law caught her in

My aunt asaulted my neice cousin, my aunt always causing family problems. Unfortunately she thinks my niece cousin was at tv her estranged step grandson. Only the brother of her grandsons. He just got out of jail and overdosed, truely sad and unfortunate.
But the crime here is 74 yr old aunt beat her sisters granddaughter with her shoe and hand.
the police fined aunt, aunt t is saying false information that happened and there were 3 witnesses.
So can there be a mental evaluation done, what kind of charges may she get?

Hard to say what granny is charged with, or might be charged with.
Charges could range from simple assault and affray, to domestic violence, to child abuse.
No matter what, I doubt, even if granny is convicted, she'll get jail or prison time.
