I am married with a baby on the way. My wife and I are expecting a baby girl. I am currently on the sex offenders registry, for R.S. 14.81.1 (a). My probation officer is now saying I can't be around my daughter when she is born. Is this legal?

§81.1. Pornography involving juveniles
A.(1) It shall be unlawful for a person to produce, distribute, possess, or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles.

My probation officer is now saying I can't be around my daughter when she is born. Is this legal?

It could be legal, depending on the terms of your probation.

You will need a criminal defense attorney to review those terms and petition the court for a modification of those terms.

That covers probation or parole of registered sex offenders. It doesn't say anything about one's own minor children but you can't live near or go to parks, playgrounds, schools, etc.

It also depends on what your probation conditions state. If you're concerned, hire a lawyer to look into it. Or see if you have a legal aid section in your county/area.
