I recently got a ticket in Florida. The cop was parked about .3 miles from the actual speed limit sign. i was going 59 in a 55 and had not slowed down yet, and as it changed to 45 he hit me immediately. I could even see him when I was at the 45 mph sign! nice cop, lowered it to 54 and charged 131 instead of 300 (even though the ticket says 59 in a 45). Im upset because I never go more than 4-5 miles over the speed limit and it was an obvious trap. Can I fight it?

Take a traffic school class, if permitted to do so in your jurisdiction.
Or, ask for a deferred sentence.
Fight it?
Sure, but you'll likely get convicted.
The two options I've outlined work.
Fighting a speeding ticket doesn't.

4-5 over the limit is still a violation. It is called a limit for a reason... you are not supposed to exceed it for any reason. You will be wasting your time trying to fight it.
Traffic school, as suggested, will keep it off your record, but you will have to pay up.

And no- as you describe it, it was not a speed trap. You simply ignored the speed limit signs.

The speed limit was 45 at the sign, not when you felt like slowing down. This system has worked well for decades.
