Bank Garnished My Unemployment Check

Last Friday 7-10-09, My Bank Had A Florida Garnishment Put On It For A Judgement My Wife Has. Looking Through Other Internet Advice, It Is My Understading That My Unemploymnet Check Is Exempt. I Called The Bank Today, And They Said So Sorry, This Is A Court Matter, And I Need To Go To Court To Retreive My Funds. Please Keep In Mind, It Is Only $600.00 They Took, But When You Are Unemployed, It Is A Hardship!

Any Advise Would Be Greatly Appreciated!

Do what the bank told you to do-- Contact the courts and tell them this was unemployment -- they will research this and give you a outcome. The bank can not do anythign unless the courts tell them to-- you better do it ASAP

How does a bank garnish an unemployment check? Don't you get the check directly from the state?
