My jurisdiction is: north carolina

I know NC. is a "right to work " state and I have no rights.
How ever my question is, I worked for a "private contractor" with a service contract for the ARMY, on post.
We are covered by the Federal dept. of Labor (davis - bacon act?) does this give me any protections?

I have no reprimands. Hired as heavy equipment operator. 90 day probation.
required to operate bulldozer, track hoe, motor grader , tractor lowboy, rubber tire loader.

Worked 9 months. received quarterly attendance awards.
Commended by manager on productivity, safety, quality and customer service.

Also, commended by Army, contract manager, rail maintenance manager, Forest manager and Wild fire management consultant, on quality and productivity of customer service.

Reason in letter for termination was " lacked skills to hold the position"
( verbally I was told there was not enough work for a second operator)
I have 35 years equipment operation experience. I have hired and trained employees, to operate equipment and to accomplish tasks required by blue prints and supervisors.
My experience is documented, can be verified by others as well as by Army management mentioned above.

My position has just been re- advertised to be filled.

DOES ANY OF THIS MATTER ON A "D.O.D" PROJECT? If it would, where do I start?

The contractor can terminate your employment for lack of happens all the time with Government contracts. That said the employer should state laid off for lack of work ,and not a slanderous reason. Davis-Bacon protects wages, thats about it.
