My husband paid cash for a car at a small dealership. He drives the car and everything seemed to be in order. After the transaction, (cash sale as is), we went home with it. The next day we kept hearing a sound from the transmission. It happened all day. Very concerned, we tried to bring it back in less than 48. He refused stating we did not have a Warrenty. Does the lemon law not apply? The car was 7k.

As phrased, the answer to the question is (apparently) yes. As Florida's beautiful attorney general explains here, Florida's lemon law applies only to new vehicles. Your post seems to indicate this was a used car when your husband bought it. Also, "as is" means exactly that.

Of course, the thing to do is bring it to a competent mechanic for a diagnosis - which is what your husband SHOULD HAVE done before shelling out seven grand on a used car sold "as is".
