Warrent Needed?

What kind of a warrent is used to order an investigation by detectives or a detective agency ?

There seems to be an investigation ( people watching this family).....going on 5 years.

A local police officer said that was not a warrent out against these people by the police, nothing has been filed in the county courthouse.


A lawyer's ideas would be appreciated..............thank you

Detective agencies don't watch families.
If a detective agency has watched a family for five years, someone has spent a great deal of money to have that done.
Relax, it's your imagination.
No ones watching you.
You and your family aren't that important.

You didn't describe a scenario which would require a warrant.
As above, five years is a long time. It would be a safe assumption that if there was an investigation years ago it was closed long ago.

There is no such court order or "warrant" that can compel the police to investigate anyone or anything. The police can investigate whomever they choose.

"Seems to be"???? If the police have been watching someone that long, chances are members of that family keep getting into trouble.

The police do not need any kind of a warrant to investigate anyone.

As for a "detective agency" these are private investigation firms that get paid to investigate people or organizations. If someone pays them, they will look into them or do almost anything the client wishes to pay them for.
