Wanting to adopt grandson

We have legal guardial of our 7 year old grandson since he was 9 month old. We would like to know how hard it would be to adopt him. My daughter has agreed to it and the father only sees him about 5 times a year and is behind on child support. Any suggestions on what to do or what is involved would be appreciated.

You would need a lawyer, as well as permission of both parents to terminate their rights.

In that case, retain an attorney. You shouldn't attempt to do this on your own, and your attorney will outline the process.
