Wanting info if I can move out of the country with my son

My ex and I have been divorced for 7-8 months and we have a 3 yr old son together. There is no custody order in place and we have not been to court or mediation. Him and I have just a verbal agreement that he has our son on his days off.

Now my question is because of hardships here(not being able to find a job etc...) can I move out of the country with him? I have family there and would be able to provide him a good life. I just need some advice so I know what my next move should be

Out of the COUNTRY?

Not very likely, if Dad is a regular, consistent part of the child's life. Why out the country?

Is Dad willing to become primary custodian? That's certainly an option.
