What can happen when you let someone use your information to file taxes with a false W-2?

Many things, most of them bad for you!!!!

The IRS will eventually contact you and demand you repay ALL of the money, with added fees, interests, and additional costs.

It will also cause you a myriad of other problems, even criminal charges.

I suggest you speak with a criminal defense attorney immediately and see if there is anyway out of this that allows you to avoid felony charges and a criminal record.

Some people get limited amnesty, if they agree to repay the money.

There are variations on that theme.

Some people contact the IRS directly by visiting one of their offices and coming clean.
Most of those people get a deal, and avoid prison time.
That is accomplished by revealing the others involved in the scam, especially Mr or Ms BIGGUN.
