Can grandparents sue for visitation rights? What is the likelihood of a grandparent being granted visitation?

It really depends on the circumstance. For instance why can't the grandparent see the child on their childs time? The g-parent needs to prove visitation is in the childs best interest and normally the bio parent has to be absent like dead, incarcerated, etc.. If the family is still intact, very hard to get visits.

It depends on the state where the child resides.
Some states are more friendly to grandparents than others.
It often is better to try to discuss things than litigate them.
Try to negotiate with the child's parents.
Some children hate their parents.
Their hearts are hard.
Love can often soften a hard heart.
Lawsuits, generally make them harder.

Finally, to answer your question, yes, you can sue to see your grandchildren.
Depending upon the state in olved, it's often a useless tactic.

God bless you for trying to love and support your grandchild.

Please, for the sake of those grandchildren, don't stop loving and caring for them.
