Hi

I am an employer I had an employee that left the company a year ago she have a J 1 visa and was applying for her green card the company sponsor her until she left, her new employer was now going to sponsor her for the green card. How ever she keeps calling and asking us to fill out form and to verify employment for her so that she can send it to her attorney. Due I have a legal obligation to continue to do this for her? Any help would be appreciated

Due to the status of work visa she had under your company, immigration requires you disclose her information during her tenure at your company. If it is a federal immigration form you should respond. You owe the curtsy to former workers to comply with such forms under policies of work visas. If you are trying to give her a hard time it would only delay her and she could sue you in civil court or get a court order. If it is not an immigration form, it is your call, but be ready for a civil liability.
