One of my roomates decided to leave at the beginning of this month even though our lease is not up until June 30th. She paid May rent, but refuses to pay June. We found someone to take her room June 15th, so we are only asking that she pay half a months rent.
I know that my remaining roommate and I are responsible for the full amount of the rent and I realize we could sue her for the rent, but is the landlord required to use her security deposit in situations like this?
