VA child support question

My ex husband quit his government job and took a lower paying job to get his child support lowered. The mediator at the court told me I could argue to have his income impuded. Does anyone know if this is the real language for what my argument needs to be on this issue?

You argue that he volunatarily took a lower paying job and that he is capable of earning more. You ask that his income be calculated for his old job. Of course the same could apply to you as well.
