Answer: nNot even if the person were a US citizen. The US Embassy could offer aid, assistance, and advice to the US citizen, however. The US Embassy owes no duty, nor does it have an obligation to another national, traveling outside the US. Why? An H1b worker is not a US citizen, therefore has no US Passport!

if a US citizen get assaulted or killed in india - would that person or his relatives has to register the case with the police station in india? and then request US court or police in USA to liaise with cops in inida to perform the investigation?

i am trying to findout how the US government helps or protects the US Citizen when such a event happens in india/

what kind of assistance would US embassay offer to either assaulted US citizens or the relatives of the killed us citizen?

on what occasions do US FBI/CBI/ cops get involved in crimes to us citizen in india ? do they involve only through the court order?

US law enforcement officials have no jurisdiction outside the territorial boundaries of the US.

India is a sovereign nation.

US Embassy personnel will meet with US citizens abroad. But, the US is powerless to act as much more than an advisor.

You can contact the US State Department (it has a website) for a more specific answer. Generally, US citizens are on their own when traveling abroad.

Why is this guy so worried about something like this in other countries? First it's China, then India. Why so concerned about getting beat up abroad?

The only way the FBI would get involved at all is if it were something were someone had committed a crime in both nations or something along those lines. With what you are talking about, the US authorities would not get involved at all. Nor would they be able to. Look at it this way, if you beat up some Chinese guy, would you expect the Chinese police to show up at your door?
