I was in a rollover hit and run. I am a 100% disabled veteran with a prosthetic leg. My VA doctors have assigned a permanent back injury that was pre existing but was worsened with the injury. My um limit is 100/300 and the company has offered me $20.000. I countered at $73,000 and am waiting to hear back from them. Do I have to write a demand letter or should I just wait to hear from them. The accident happened 10 months ago

If you're smart, don't do this yourself.

Hire a lawyer.

Sure, the lawyer will get 1/3, but that's usually on 3 to 4 times more than what you'd get without a lawyer.

If you get $70K, a lawyer would get $200-250K.
After he gets 1/3 of $200K, you'd have $134-140 K left.

That's just rough math, in your case, I bet it'd be more.

Also, if the lawyer gets you nothing, he doesn't get paid. His winning in contingent on you winning.

Hire a lawyer, sit back, recover from your ordeal, get more money for less effort!!!
