Unemployment Benefits Appeal

I was quick changed by a customer that left my cash drawer short which resulted in my termination. According to the rep from the Texas Workforce Commission the company policy states that a shortage of $25 or more may result in termination. We are not provided a hard copy of the company policies and procedures so I have no way to verify that at this point. And my boss would routinely sign in as employees to complete various things that corporate wanted the employees to complete on the portal so we would not go over on hours, which would effect her commission. However people have violated the policy and not been fired.

My unemployment benefits were denied due to being fired for company policy violation. Do I have grounds for an appeal?

Thanks,
Amy

One is always free to appeal.

It costs nothing, and you could even prevail.

Employers sometimes do not fight appeals.

You've got nothing to lose and much to gain.
