I am a Canadian and my fiancee is American. Once married we would like to have the flexibility to work and live in either country.

In other words, in the long run, I would like a green card for the U.S. and she would like a green card for Canada.

What would the best way to go about this? If I was to go live with her in the U.S. and get a green card, could we then move to Canada and get her the equivalent in Canada?

Yes. Hire an immigration attorney to get the process going once you get married. Good luck to you!

That it is possible is encouraging. Thank you.

Does anyone have more details on what to expect. i.e.
* What the advantages are of starting in the U.S. vs Canada. e.g. should we try to get the Canadian one first? is it possible to pursue both at the same time?

* What do the time lines look like? How long should this process take?

* What restrictions are placed on us while we go through this process.
