Does a trial hearing cost a lot?? I know this sounds like a trivial question, but I am representing myself in a divorce case in New York and I am new to many things.
We had a court session and my ex husband's lawyer put up a case that her office wasn't served properly. I won't go into details, but the judge made us have a traverse hearing. I told the judge that my ex husband is wasting money on hearings, instead of just paying me for what he owes me (this divorce has been going on for years now). To make a long story short, his lawyer snapped, "Oh but I'm giving my client this session for free".
I know she's lying out of her ass, but I'm wondering if my ex has to pay a lot of money for a "traverse hearing" trial.
